Helping you understand each other, navigate difficulties and find a way forward.
Relationships can be one of the most rewarding parts of our lives, but they can also be complicated. Even the strongest relationships can experience difficulties, whether that's communication breaking down, recurring arguments, a loss of intimacy or simply feeling that you've grown apart.
Sometimes relationships reach a crossroads. You may be struggling to reconnect, rebuilding trust after an affair, navigating changes in your circumstances or wondering whether you want to stay together. You might love each other deeply but find yourselves repeating the same patterns, unable to understand why things keep going wrong.
Relationship counselling offers a space to explore what's happening between you, understand each other's experiences and consider what you want from your relationship.
I offer couples counselling and relationship therapy for people at different stages of their relationships, whether you're married, a parent and adult child, living together, dating, separating, or exploring a different way of being together. I recognise that not all relationships follow a traditional model and offer an inclusive, non-judgemental approach to different relationship structures, identities and experiences.
Not every relationship comes to therapy because of conflict. Sometimes you simply need space to talk about something important, make a difficult decision or understand how your individual needs can be accommodated within the relationship.

Consensual Non-Monogamy
Whilst couples counselling is a familiar term, I recognise that meaningful relationships don't always fit neatly into the traditional idea of a couple. My approach is inclusive and affirming of LGBTQIA+ relationships, diverse identities and different ways of experiencing love, commitment and intimacy. This includes an understanding of polyamory, open relationships and consensual non-monogamy (CNM), where questions of communication, boundaries, trust and expectations may have their own particular complexities.
Whatever your relationship structure, the aim is not to prescribe what a healthy relationship should look like, but to help you understand what a fulfilling, respectful and sustainable relationship might look like for you.
If you are an individual looking to explore your sexuality, porn use, relationships, unhelpful relationship patterns, dating experience - we can do that in individual therapy. You may not have a partner, or feel ready to explore this with your partner(s) just yet, in which case, individual sessions may serve you better. Book a free consultation HERE.
Relationship therapy isn't always about saving a relationship. Sometimes it's about strengthening your connection, sometimes it's about understanding whether you want to continue, and sometimes it's about finding a way to separate with greater understanding and care.
Exploring your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with someone outside your day-to-day life can offer a fresh perspective. It can help you recognise familiar patterns, understand your own and each other's needs, and make more conscious choices about the future.
You don't have to wait until your relationship is in crisis to ask for support.
Whether you're looking for couples counselling, parent-child counselling, marriage counselling, or relationship therapy, we begin by exploring what's brought you here, and what you hope might be different.
I offer a free 30-minute consultation to explore your current situation in no-nonsense language and see how I may be able to help. BOOK NOW

KATY JONES, MSc., MBACP, MNCPS (Acc.) GPsychC
I am a BACP, UKCP, and NCPS registered counsellor providing both short and long-term face-to-face psychotherapy to individuals (age 18+), and couples from my discreet private practice in Warsash.
My approach is integrative, and built on the psychotherapeutic foundation of Transactional Analysis. I weave neurobiological understanding into client work to offer a ‘whole health’ understanding of what is going on for you. I work in a trauma-informed way and I offer a safe space for difference and diversity. My practice is a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQIA+ community and I am neuro-affirming - our brains are not all alike!

As a fully-qualified counsellor, I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and the National Society for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by their code of ethics and I am also supervised in line with their requirements. I am also a member of the General Psychotherapy Council and UKCP.
In addition to my private practice, I am a co-facilitator of a support group at a local domestic and sexual abuse charity and offer counselling services to other health agencies in the area. I also work regularly with police officers both privately, and contractually for Hampshire & IOW Constabulary, exploring both professional and personal issues, and the often difficult intersection of these.
Outside of my clinical work, I am a trainer and approved CPCAB Tutor, training counselling students and trainee psychotherapists.
I am direct and collaborative. If you have found therapy passive or slow before, my style might feel different to that. I'll ask questions, give you feedback, and share what I know about how we 'function' as human beings to help you move forward. Change is important to me, and I know it's important to you. I can't change your mother-in-law or your boss, but we can figure out why certain things hit a nerve, and how you can respond to what life throws at you with some clarity, control, and confidence.
