Modern life seems to offer more and more challenges, and more and more people are looking for support in facing them. As a counsellor, my role is to provide space and guidance to help you negotiate the current situation you are in, find some understanding, relieve emotional and psychological pain, and return some balance to your life to help you face the demands of the modern world.
I offer a chance to reflect on the challenges and difficulties you are experiencing in a discreet and safe environment with a confidential and non-judgemental approach. Exploring your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with someone from outside your day-to-day life often leads to a fresh perspective – and perhaps a renewed hope for the future. Not only for you, but for the important people in your life too.
Individuals, couples and families come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that I see in my practice:
Stress or anxiety
Relationship problems
Grief and bereavement
Loss
Adjusting to retirement
Trauma and post-traumatic stress
Domestic abuse
Sexual abuse
Childhood Abuse and difficulties
ADHD & neurodiversity
Depression
Loss of confidence
Low self-esteem
Boarding school alumni
Anger management
Sexuality and gender issues
Couples and relationship issues
Menopause and women’s healthissues
Career and management burnout
Family conflicts and miscommunication
Often there are a number of presenting issues, rather than just one and a 20-minute consultation will help us establish what your immediate needs are.
